about
Nashville-based, queer indie pop/rock artist daena is on a mission: to explore love, vulnerability and how to have fun through it all. She returns this fall with her debut full-length album, “Alter Ego”, a bold artist statement challenging imposter syndrome and leaning into a quarter-life crisis. With her signature pop songwriting sensibility, daena crafts catchy melodies that live slightly left of center. The early 00s-inspired songs blend tongue-in-cheek relatability with the perfect amount of grit, quirk and honesty, sure to hook fans of Olivia Rodrigo + Zolita.

daena’s songs have been placed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and “Night Pop” editorial playlists, featured on iHeart Radio, Nashville’s Lightning 100, and played on local stages like the legendary Bluebird Cafe and Musician's Corner. Her single "Close Isn't Enough" has organically amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify. To top it off, she's worked with the It Gets Better Project as an official TikTok creator and has racked up over 32k followers of her own.
“I think everyone can relate to the growing pains of your twenties and the many, many versions of yourself that you go through while trying to figure out who you are," daena says. "This record is a coming of age story. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
"daena speaks stories into her songs, and it’s made us more empathetic listeners.
And better dancers."
