about
Nashville-based, queer indie pop/rock artist is on a mission: to explore love, truth and vulnerability through her music - and also, maybe dance a little bit. She's returned for the fall with her captivating new single “Disappearing Act”. From the lush layers of guitars, synths and vocals, to the honest lyricism threaded with imagery, it’s a magnetic new direction for daena that fans of Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers alike will love.
daena’s next singles are leading up to her debut full-length record in 2023.
daena’s songs have been placed on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and “Night Pop” editorial playlists, and featured on iHeart Radio, Nashville’s Lightning 100 and more. Her single "Close Isn't Enough" has organically amassed over 790k on Spotify, and she's racked up over 26k TikTok followers to boot. She's currently an official TikTok creator with the It Gets Better Project.
As a queer woman, daena hopes to be a role model for other young people in the community. “It’s important to help normalize all queer relationships and identities,” daena says. “I hope that my music can encourage listeners to be true to who they are - and proud of it - no matter where they are in their journey of self-discovery and love”.
"daena speaks stories into her songs, and it’s made us more empathetic listeners.
And better dancers."
